Scams

Scams Directory
Although we have talked briefly about chain letters in pyramid schemes, I think that chain letters are slightly different. Chain letters are a type of pyramid scheme.

The sad thing is that while most people understand that chain letters (and pyramid schemes) are scams, many people do not.

Almost everyday that I am marketing, I find a chain letter in my email in-box. Although I understand how this scam works now, even I was enticed into joining one about ten years ago (when I was 20). My Mom and I got a chain letter in the mail. I won't bore you with the details, but of course did not work.

Not only do chain letters not work, they are illegal. You are not exchanging a real product or service. You are just getting people to do something for the potential profit.

Who would start these things if they weren't profitable? That is the easy part. The answer is mailing list companies.

If you have ever gotten a chain letter, their instructions will tell you to mail this letter to 200 to 1,000 people. You will always be told that you can get names from XYZ Company at the bottom of the letter.

All chain letters are is a way for mailing list companies to get some free orders.
