| Judicial judgements are nothing more than another set of low-priced systems that have been heavily marketed over the last few years. The people that write these programs tell you how to make thousands of dollars helping people recover money tied up in judicial judgments. These program writers say you can start out making $500 per week with only a $500 investment. That sounds pretty good but there is a harsh reality. I decided to order one of the lower priced versions of this system, I have seen versions ranging from $80 to $245. I did some of my own research to see what was available. I live in Beaverton, a suburb of Portland. Portland is made up of three large counties. I went to one of the three large courthouses and started to work. The program creators recommended handling judgments that were more than $300 but less than $2,000, depending on the area. Here is an example of a judgment: Person A owes Person B $580 for dental work that they received and didn't pay for. Person A just won't pay. He claims the work was shoddy and he doesn't feel that he should pay Person B. Person B tries the phone call route without any luck and then finally decides that he is going to take him to court. He is most likely not going to involve an attorney, as an attorney could easily eat up more than $580 in legal fees. It is most likely that Person B will take Person A to small claims court. Let's say he does, and Person A doesn't even show up. Person B automatically wins the judgment against Person A. Now Person A is required by the court to pay Person B. Many times these judgments are difficult to collect on. If the amount was $10,000+, a local private investigator will probably handle the case for a percentage, if he can get Person A to pay up. But claims in any small claims court ($1 to usually $2,000) can be very difficult to collect. Many do not get collected. Here's the skinny You find people who are owed the largest judgment, $400 to $2,000, by going through all of the cases in the small claims file. The sellers of this program don't recommend going after the smaller claims as they really aren't worth your time and the larger ones will have attorneys or private investigators handling them. You make your money by collecting a portion of any money that you can get out of the debtor, using various shady methods. I went through nine months worth of files to get enough business that would have lasted me maybe two to three weeks. I realized that even if I had gone to the other two large courthouses, I would have exhausted all of my leads in less than two months. I would then have had to wait for another year before there would have been any work. This doesn't even include if I had some business in my town. I would assume I would. Portland and suburbs total population is approximately 1.5 million. I then came to the same realization I did about liquidating. This is a system that a group of people came up with, realized they couldn't do full time, and so they decided to sell it through the mail. Matt Gagnon Mazu Publishing www.Mazu.com |
